About Us

The University of the Virgin Islands Research and Technology Park, or RTPark, was chartered with a focused mission in mind: to lead technology-based economic development by helping your technology-based business thrive. With public sector, academic and commercial stakeholders who bring a broad array of assets and are passionate about our mission, we are well positioned to help you fulfill yours. We typically engage as a business partner, aligning our resources, including generous corporate tax incentives, with workforce development opportunities benefiting your company and the USVI economy.
Since the earliest days of transatlantic exploration, the USVI has been a crossroads for commerce in the Americas. With ever-increasing demand for connectivity around the world, our geographic location and jurisdiction under US federal law have established the USVI as an ideal landing and switching site for Tier-1 subsea fiber systems for multinational carriers such as Global Crossing and AT&T. Today, the USVI is a vital and growing crossroads for e-commerce; in all likelihood, you already rely on the networks making landfall here.
Tier-1 global connectivity, jurisdiction under US federal law, corporate tax incentives, and partnerships in workforce and economic development all combine to make the USVI, and RTPark, the ideal place to bring your technology-based business for competitive advantage.
Chartered under US Virgin Islands law, our mission and mandate can be found in Virgin Islands Code (VIC) Title 17, Chapters 34 and 43.
