Community Reinvestment

One of the most effective ways to accelerate community reinvestment is to improve the return on investment (ROI) for existing assets and resources. RTPark has been, and remains committed to, accomplishing this in a number of ways:

• Our capital commitment to make the territory’s Tier-1 subsea fiber systems available for economic development has lowered barriers to entry and created a level playing field for Knowledge Based Businesses in the USVI. We now offer 64 West, the only Tier-1 point of presence and data center inside a fiber landing facility in the USVI, and this initiative greatly facilitates efforts to attract e-commerce and other companies seeking competitive advantage here.
• Our ability to engage in public/private partnerships has led to long term contracts with strategic partners Adveniat and JetPay. These companies, by providing mission critical telecommunications, managed services including hosting, and transaction processing services to support our tenants’ business objectives, enhance the ROI RTPark can deliver on financial support already provided by the USVI government.
• Our mission is to foster the development of a new and growing technology sector in the USVI. To accomplish this, we are actively seeking to attract Knowledge Based Businesses which for the most part are not currently active in the USVI, serving markets beyond the borders of the USVI. By making the marketplace larger for everyone, local businesses can see and take advantage of new opportunities for growth. In addition, UVI and other educational institutions can better plan for requirements borne out of established and growing market demand, not just market forecasts.

Our community reinvestment initiatives won’t stop with leveraging existing resources to secure a better ROI. RTPark is committed to participating in and leading territorial efforts, in collaboration with tenants, strategic partners, and other public and private sector leaders, to seek innovative ways to apply technology to address issues relating to targeted developmental challenges in the territory, such as “e-government” and the territorial education system.

For example, RTPark has provided major sponsorship for the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) summer enrichment program for high school students on St. Croix, and material assistance to UVI’s Internet2 initiative by providing the necessary cross-connection to the special high-speed connection it requires.
